Mark, I did try migrating The Noisy Channel to Medium as a publication following these instructions. Probably the same as what you explored.

I didn’t mind creating a publication — in fact, I saw that as a plus, since much my Noisy Channel material is a bit different from the stuff I write today.

What made me unhappy, however, was that I couldn’t migrate the comments. And some of the Noisy Channel comment threads are epic.

Also, there’s not admin console for bulk editing. For example, you can’t select a few hundred posts and delete them — you need to delete them one at a time. If you’re trying to manage a large archive, that’s pretty painful.

I’m sure Medium will improve its tools over time. It’s just not there yet.
